I Is We

We are an innovative, community-based non-profit that uses chess and higher-level games to educate, engage, and empower underserved & high-risk youth — steering them away from criminal and gang-related activities toward a brighter, self-reliant future.

Understanding the unique needs of our specific youth population, we also facilitate mentor-based workshops focused on health & hygiene, self-esteem, strengthening peer relationships, improving financial literacy, and encouraging positive decision-making.

We collaborate with food & nutrition-focused businesses & community organizations dedicated to addressing our youth's challenges around food insecurity. These collaborators know that when this need is met our youth can best focus on their learning & self-improvement goals.
